Tracey Hecht is a writer and entrepreneur. The American Booksellers Association chose The Mysterious Abductions—the first book in her critically acclaimed middle grade series, The Nocturnals—as a Kids’ Indie Next List pick. She expanded the series to include early reader books so that families with young children can share the reading experience together. In partnership with the New York Public Library, Tracey created a Read Aloud Writing Program that she has since conducted—both in-person and virtually—in hundreds of schools, libraries, and bookstores across the country.
A sought-after speaker, Tracey led a webinar for the American Association of School Librarians on the benefits of reading aloud and was on a panel at the 2019 convention on Rollicking Read-Alouds. She has also appeared as a panelist for the American Booksellers Association’s ABC Children’s Institute, where she focused on how to run successful virtual author visits. Tracey currently splits her time between New York City and Oquossoc, Maine, with her husband and four children.
